Vocal / Competition

General Information

The competition will be held from 18th to 22nd of August 2017 at the Kazakh National University of Arts address: 50 Tauelsyzdyk Ave, Astana, Kazakhstan.

Auditions will be held in the following categories:

I Category – under 18 years (inclusive).

The competition programme must include the composer's works of the the Baroque and one of any Aria. 
The total time of the program should not exceed 10 min.*

II Category – from 19 to 35 years (inclusive).

Round 1 – the competitor must perform one work by a Baroque or Classicism, one work of an author of the country party,  compulsory work of A. Shor and one Aria chosen by the candidate.
The total time of the program should not exceed 15 min.*

Round 2 – with orchestra. One or two arias from the list.

For Soprano:

1. G. Verdi – “Tacea la notte placida” from “Il Trovatore”
2. G. Verdi – “Pace, pace mio Dio” from “La forza del destino”
3. G. Verdi – “E strano” from “La Traviata”
4. G. Puccini – “Si, mi chiamano” from “La Boheme”
5. W. A. Mozart – “Queen of the Night” from “The Magic Flute”
6. J. Offenbach – “Les oiseaux dans la charmille” from “The Tales of Hoffmann”.
7. P. Tchaikovsky – “Uj polnoch blizitsya” from “The Queen of Spades”
8. W. A. Mozart – "Come scoglio" from "Cosi fan tutte"
9. W. A.  Mozart – "Martern aller Arten" from "Entfuehrung aus dem Serail" 

 For Tenor:

1. G. Puccini – “Nessun Dorma” from “Turandot”
2. G. Puccini – “E lucevan le stelle” from “Toska”
3. G. Donizetti – “Una furtiva lagrima” from “L´elisir d´amore”
4. G. Rossini – “Ecco ridente in cielo” from “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”
5. R. Leoncavallo – "Vesti la giubba" from “Pagliacci”
6. G. Verdi – “Celeste Aida” from “Aida”
7. P. Tchaikovsky – “Kuda, Kuda…” from “Eugene Onegin”
8. W. A. Mozart – "Dalla sua pace" from ''Don Giovanni''

For Mezzo-soprano:

1. G. Bizet – “l'amour est un oiseau rebelle” from “Carmen”

For Baritone:

3. P. Tchaikovsky – ”Ya Vas Lyublyu” from “The Queen of Spades”

5. A. Borodin – “Ni sna, ni otdykha izmuchennoi dushe” from “Prince Igor”
6. G. Donizetti  – "Vien Leonora" from  "La Favorita"

For Bass:

2. G. Rossini – “La calunnia” from “The Barber of Seville”
3. G. Verdi – “Ella giammai m'amo” from ''Don Carlos”

To the second round will select 10 contestants.

Auditions will be broadcast online on the Youtube channel. The assessment of each jury member for each participant can be seen on our website.*The jury has the right to stop the competitor in case of exceeded time limit of auditions. All compositions must be played from memory.

1st Prize – the laureate diploma and 1000 EUR
2nd Prize – the laureate diploma and 700 EUR
3rd Prize – the laureate diploma and 300 EUR

Category II

1st Prize – the laureate diploma and € 10 000 + concert in Malta with a remuneration fee (1000 EUR)
2nd Prize – the laureate diploma and 6 000 EUR
3rd Prize – the laureate diploma and 3 000 EUR
4th Prize – the diploma
5th Prize – the diploma
6th Prize – the diploma
