Violin / Competition

General Information

Competition will be held from 19th to 24th of August 2017 at the Kazakh National University of Arts in Kazakhstan, Astana, Tauelsizdik, 50.

Auditions will be held in the following categories:

Category I, up to 12 years old

Free Choice Programme up to 10 minutes*.

Category II, 13-17 years old

2 Different and original pieces. The total performance is no more than 15 minutes*.

Category III, 18-35 (incl.) years old

Round 1 – piece of Bach + virtuoso piece. Overall performance is not more than 20 minutes*.

Round 2 with orchestra – compulsory composition by A. Shore with orchestra.

And any of the pieces listed below:

  1. P. Tchaikovsky – concert for violin and orchestra in 3 parts
  2. J. Brahms – Concert for violin and orchestra in 3 parts
  3. A. Khachaturian - Concert for violin and orchestra in 3 parts

(Maximum number of participants: for 2 round – 6 people).


* The jury of the right to stop the contestant if the specified time limit exceeded. The whole programme has to be performed by heart.

Jury

Aiman Mussakhajayeva

Aiman Mussakhajayeva is the Rector of the Kazakh National University of Arts and the famous violinist. Professor Ayman Kozhabekovna Mussakhajayeva is the winner of many international competitions. Among them are international competitions in Belgrade (1976); the N. Paganini in Genoa (1981), Tokyo (1983), behalf of Sibelius in Helsinki (1985), V111 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1986).

Pierclaudio Fei

Pierclaudio Fei Italian Conductor and violinist, holds the position of a professor in the school "Pacioli" in Follonica and at school "Tresigallo". As a violinist then as a viola player he has collaborated with numerous orchestras since 1985: Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, Orchestra del Teatro del Giglio di Lucca, Orchestra da Camera di Fiesole, Orchestra Sinfonica dell’ Emilia Romagna “A. Toscanini” di Parma, Florence Symphonyetta, Camerata Musicale Fiesolana, I Virtuosi dell’ Accademia, Symphonya Perusina, Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, playing in more than 800 of the world’s concert halls; Teatro alla Pergola e Teatro Comunale di Firenze, Teatro Regio di Parma, Auditorium RAI di Roma, Teatro Verdi di Pisa, Teatro del Giglio di Lucca, Arena Garibaldi di Ravenna, Teatro Romano di Fiesole.

Gokce Ozler

Gokce Ozler is a director and concertmaster of Bursa State Symphony Orchestra (Turkey). At the same time he is the First Violin of BURSA KENT QUARTET and has been teaching the academic violin in Conservatory of Uludag University of Bursa since 2004.

Karen Shakhgaldyan

Karen Shakhgaldyan - one of the most prominent musicians of the contemporary Russia. Laureate Pablo Sarasate competition in Pamplona. He was an artist of the orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi" under Vladimir Spivakov for several years.
